1900'den İtibaren En İyi 100 Kurgu Karakteri listesi, Amerikan Book dergisinin Mart/Nisan 2002 sayısında yayımlandı. Aralarında yazar, editör, yayınevi sorumlusu ve oyuncuların da bulunduğu 55 kişilik bir ekip, 1900 yılından itibaren edebiyattaki en iyi 100 karakteri seçmek için bir araya geldi. Listedeki 100 kitaptan 55'i Amerikan edebiyatına, 29'u İngiltere ve İrlanda edebiyatına, geriye kalan 16 kitap da diğer ülkelerin edebiyatlarına aittir.
